It’s official, the Communauté de Communes de l’Ernée, supported by the Department of Mayenne, has just signed its commitment to deploy two Hyperion datacenters for all 15 member municipalities of its shared IT services.
As a pioneer in immersion cooling, Hyperion is proud to play a role in decarbonizing its region by putting its cutting-edge technology at the service of this important cause.
Through this collaboration, the Communauté de Communes de l’Ernée becomes the first local authority in France to deploy an immersion cooling system on its premises.
The datacenters will be installed this summer in the premises of the Communauté de Communes and at the AquaFitness center in Ernée.
This installation will help save the electricity typically used for data hosting and allow for the reuse of the heat generated by the servers.
The Communauté de Communes has chosen to commit to this initiative as part of a broader sustainable development strategy. More than just a commitment to responsible digital practices, it is primarily a commitment to the future, fighting against the energy waste of traditional datacenters, promoting digital sovereignty, and working towards carbon neutrality by 2040. This initiative also confirms the community’s ongoing desire to adopt cutting-edge technologies while staying deeply rooted in its local territory.
Everything You Need to Know About How Hyperion Works
Traditionally, classic data centers are highly energy-intensive and require an air conditioning system to dissipate the heat generated by electronic components. Hyperion bypasses this costly system by using oil cooling (immersion cooling). The Hyperion solution is realized through a stainless steel tank in which the servers are submerged. More information on how it works is provided below.

This technique is a technological advancement that brings more performance, more savings, and greater longevity.
